- Uniquely Matthew
- Uniquely Mark
- Uniquely Luke
Notice that the account from Luke is one of the shortest. He has taken all the detail that some of the others share and just told the essentials but with some differences. He has stuck closer to Mark’s account than the others. Note too how vastly different John’s account is. I haven’t taken time to colour John’s because basically almost all of it would be uniquely John.
Take time now to consider Luke’s differences and similarities and how he has order them to see if anything stands out. I could continue on today to make comment about it but I will give you a day in between to do it yourself. I know there are those of you who value being pointed in the right direction and then given time to work on it. So you have the time now. You can see what is unique to each writer above. Now take the time to work out the significance of what we see as we deal with Luke’s account.
I will leave you for today and give you the time to chew over the findings. What is the significance of all of this to Luke’s account?
I will see you back here in the next Gem before the crowd comes for lunch.
Have fun.
Every step of obedience will bring you closer to God’s desired destination.
