Something I was told early in my Christian life was to take time out in the early morning for my Quiet Time. I think you will notice from the verses I gave you above that it is not that Jesus always took time alone in the early morning. He did that but then He took other time out too. In the middle of the day, at night, late at night, all through the night, while it was still night and before dawn. Jesus took time out at different times primarily to refresh Himself in the presence of His Father. If it was good enough for Him its good enough for me.
Leroy Eims shared this principle at a conference when I was just starting out as a Christian. “Think of someone in this world that you most admire and most want to meet.” I immediately thought of Rod Laver, the only man in history to win two Grand Slams in tennis (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open), Eims said, “Imagine that person asks you to meet with them at 6.00 am, would you be there?” Would I what! I would be there an hour before, waiting. I hope he brings his racquet. Eims then said, “What if he asked to meet you every morning at 6.00? Would you be there?” OF COURSE I WOULD if Rod Laver were willing to meet with me every morning. Wow.
Eims then went on to say, “Well, there is One Who wants to meet with you every morning; none other than the Creator of the Universe. Will you be there?”
That’s enough for today! I will leave you to ponder the question.
