Bible Gemz 966 - The Friend at Midnight (Luke 11:5-8)
Then, teaching them more about prayer, He used this story: "Suppose you went to a friend's house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him,
'A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.'
And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, 'Don't bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can't help you.'
But I tell you this—though he won't do it for friendship's sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.(Luk 11:5-8)
I think with this short story, I am going to do something different with this Gemz. I am not going to give you anything to start you off. You come up with the questions that will help solve the riddle of what its saying? Just simply apply what we have been doing in Gemz for centuries (ok so that's an exaggeration – sometimes it feels like that but I know it is only since 9th Sept 2009. It is hard to believe that I am getting close to 1,000 Gemz.)
Ha ha it is time for me to take a rest and give you the task today of cracking this Gemz. Should I give you a hint?
No I don't think so. This will be a raw naked gem. What you see is what you get. WYSIWYG.
I'll be back tomorrow.
