Romans Chapter 8, What an amazing passage of Scripture!
No condemnation > > > No Separation.
Do you think it is a coincidence that Romans 8 opens with No Condemnation and closes with No Separation?
In the previous chapters Paul has been discussing the effect of sin and how each one of us, himself included are wretched men (and women). But then it is like his thinking reaches a peak. He sees the fact that in Him we are not condemned.
Therefore now no condemnation:
- >> living by the Spirit
- >> led by the Spirit
- >> Spirit testifies that we are children of God
- >> Co-heirs with Christ
- >> Spirit intercedes for us
- >> All things work together for good for us who love God
- >> We are foreknown >> predestined >> Called >> Justified >> Glorified
- >> More than conquerors thru Him who loved us
- >> Nothing can separate us from His love.
Now seen in that context you have to admit this is the jewel in the crown of the 5th Gospel that is packed with all sorts of good things. Has Paul deliberately set this jewel in the middle of his letter to Romans? Do you remember Gem 144 where I introduced you to the concept of Chiastic Structure? Where in the layout matching the letter Chi what is placed in the middle is very important: The alpha and the omega and then the middle. Often the emphasis is placed at the beginning, the end or the middle.
In this case it seems that Paul has deliberately placed the jewel of Romans in the middle of his letter to the Romans. It is very impressive and extremely encouraging to those of us who know by the witness of the Holy Spirit that we are blood bought children of God. Because if that is true then all of the above is ours in HIM. Wow step up to the plate for your turn and appropriate what is rightly yours in Christ. Take a hold of your inheritance in Him.
God’s love is Meteoric, his loyalty Astronomic, His purpose Titanic, his verdicts Oceanic.
