I told you when we started this investigation into the Mazzaroth, the message in the stars, that we would begin with Virgo. The constellations of the Mazzaroth are found in the Temple of Esneh in Egypt. The Sphinx is placed in the arrangement between Virgo the woman and Leo the lion. The positioning of the Sphinx in the Temple of Esneh tells us something. The word Sphinx in Greek means “to bind closely together”. From the evidence found in the Temple of Esneh, the Egyptian Zodiac began with the woman (Virgo) and finished with the lion (Leo). From a Christian perspective and from the point of view of logic it would seem natural to start with the Virgin and conclude with the Conquering Lion of Judah.
Chronologically in the year the star signs are arranged as follows:
- · Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)
- · Pisces (February 19 to March 20)
- · Aries (March 21-April 19)
- · Taurus (April 20-May 20)
- · Gemini (May 21-June 20)
- · Cancer (June 21-July 22)
- · Leo (July 23-August 22)
- · Virgo (August 23-September 22)
- · Libra (September 23-October 22)
- · Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
- · Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
- · Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
But logically starting with Virgo and ending with Leo makes more sense. There is a logical sequence to the Message in the Stars which is inescapable if arranged Virgo to Leo.
Virgo and its three associated constellations begin the story with the Virgin and child who is to become the sin offering, the One called the branch. The one which the Bible prophecies will come and remove sin and restore mankind to God for those who accept his offering for their sin.
· Libra and its three associated constellations are all focus on the price paid through the cross and the resultant crown gained through the one who took our punishment. There is a price which is insufficient and a price which covers. No amount of effort or striving on our part can save us. It is only what Christ has done for us that counts in eternity.
· Scorpio and its three associated constellations depict the Serpent, the enemy of Christ and the one who seeks to rob, kill and destroy all that God has planned. Yet Christ, the One who is prophesied will save us, is stung by Scorpion in the foot. There is a continuing motif in stars which appear named “bruised in the heel” or “struck in the heel”. The importance of Genesis 3:15 cannot be over emphasized. It was part of God’s plan from the beginning of time.
· Sagittarius and its three associated constellations shows the arrow aimed at the heart of the Scorpion. Only the worship of the Christ and His sacrifice on the altar can save us from the enemy, the great dragon.
· Capricorn and its three associated constellations show it is only God can protect us from the enemy of our souls (the devil). God’s protection in is the One who came to die as a sacrifice for us. The importance of Christ fulfilling the Old Testament sacrifices is what saves us. This constellation opens the theme of the stream of living water that only He gives, which is picked up on by the following two signs.
Aquarius and its three associated constellations continue the water theme which points to the life giving water of the Spirit of God, which flows from the temple and gives life to all who dwell in it. Into this water theme are placed the fish, the one which is earth oriented
Pisces and its three associated constellations depicted the fish which is heavenly oriented. The One who is coming (Christ, the Branch) will bring the life giving water of the Holy Spirit to the fish (the people of God- Christians). These three constellations and their decans contained interwoven biblical themes that are intricate, detailed and all link together.
I would suggest at this point that you read back over what I wrote in the successive Nuggets in which I covered these stars signs one by one in order to gain an appreciation for the consistent interwoven message given throughout these twelve constellation and their decans. You can’t take it all in with a single reading. It is something you have to ponder on to see how everything links together. Each single star sign flows into the one which follows and links between them. The positioning of each image relates to the ones around it. I can’t sum it up in a single Nugget, it is too intricately arranged for that. Furthermore the motifs which keep popping up in all of the Mazzaroth signs bear testimony to the things which God wants to emphasize for us. I will attempt to bring those into focus in the following Nugget. In the meantime let’s continue.
Now the signs focus on the Old Testament system of sacrifice, the means whereby the people of God are set free. Not by keeping the rules of sacrifice, but by looking to One who once for all time paid your price for you, Christ. Not only is the sacrifice system in focus but so too is the effect for the people of God.
· Aries and its three associated constellations depict the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Now the bound woman (the church) becomes the freed woman, the beautiful bride, the saved. That too is a biblical theme.
· Taurus and its three associated constellations hints at both the bull in the sacrificial system but more importantly in my mind brings into the focus the coming Judge. More important in this star sign than the picture or image of each star sign are the names and meaning of the stars in the constellations. Keep those in mind as you read through this material. Looking at images of the Zodaic makes it all fanciful. Interpreting the images through the names and meaning of the stars is more useful. Remember I told you in this series that God set the stars in their appointed place and named them. That is what is important. The star sign of Taurus announces the coming Judge.
· Gemini and its three associated constellations takes the cover off the dual nature of mankind and each individual. The judge will make his ruling on the basis of whether our wrong doing has been covered by Christ (the Coming Prince) or not. Read the verses I gave you from 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 again. There are three types of people. Those who won’t get into heaven because they tried to work out their salvation themself. Those who are saved are the ones covered by Christ’s death on the cross. But there is a dualism seen again in the fish and in the twins. Christians who are covered but only get into heaven by the skin of their teeth and those who whole heartedly follow Christ. There are these two strands in the star signs, which are also strong biblical themes.
· Cancer and its three associated constellations is all about those who hang on to Christ and persevere until the end. There is much detail throughout the message in the stars which I can’t hope to cover in one nugget like this. Many books have been written on the intricacies of these message. But next week I will attempt to highlight some of those intricacies. This week I just wanted you to catch a glimpse of the ordered way in which these star signs are presented if you start with the Virgin and finish with the Lion.
· Finally, Leo and its three associated constellations all focus on the triumphant, conquering Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ. The coming judge is none other than Jesus himself. Wrapped up in all of these star signs is the cosmic battle between God and the devil. This is all to do with satan attempting to replace God. It is not that satan and God are battling to see who wins. Satan is nothing, a contest between satan and God is a non-event. God allows the adversary to exist to test our resolve to follow God’s will. God’s word is truth and tells you how life works. All else is a lie. Humanity without Christ at the centre is doomed to failure, it’s demonic. The Bible tells you that; the stars tell you that. That battle has already been won by God. Make sure you are on the winning side in the end.
Next Nugget I have a huge task:- to attempt to highlight and pull together the details. Pray for me.

Yes exactly Steven. Which outlines the unfolding God’s plan in constellations chosen for the Mazzaroth.
I am under the impression that the sphinx might be related to this, in that it has the lion body and the woman head, thereby being a key to the order.
There is a much bigger and far more encompassing story that the Mazzaroth is telling that needs to be told regarding the history and redemption of the 12 tribes of Israel. I have shared a lot of my discoveries here: http://www.mazzaroth.info
Thank you Robert, I appreciate you adding the fruit of your research to what I have written on the Mazzaroth for readers to pick up on. Ian
You gave a whole new meaning to the before-frightening “horoscope”. I was led here from Job 38:32. I am so moved. Praise God and the amazing universe he spoke into existence.

I like the revelation God gave you Lewis. I finally had a chance to look at it today; I slipped it in before the end of the year, just. Good thought and well developed. I encourage my readers to seek out the link via the title Lewis has given here. Well worth your while. Ian
